We all have that artist we are just always rooting for. They’re usually the underdog and never get the respect they deserve for some odd reason. Well Keyshia Cole has always been that artist for me!

Ever since the “A Different Me” album people have just dissed her and paid her dust. Yes, we know she hasn’t had a hit single in awhile but you can tell she was just trying a new musical direction with her later projects. No one wants to be the junior Mary J. Blige for their entire career. The gag is we let Miss. Blige change up all the time with no backlash.

After fall outs with her label, Geffen Records, and some time on the independent circuit; Cole is ready to attack the industry with L.A. Reid and Epic Records backing her. This was a smart move because with the departure of Ciara, the label has the funds to throw at a R&B veteran. The partnership has me nervous a little because they kind of dropped the ball on my girl Tamar Braxton‘s latest project.

The first single off of Keyshia Cole’s upcoming album, 1 1 1 1 Reset,  is “You” featuring Remy Ma and French Montana. The record is giving me every ounce of life right now! It reminds me of something that would have been on the “The Way It Is” LP but just a little more mature. It’s refreshing to see Keyshia Cole with a label budget again. The video is everything, it co-stars The Have and the Have Nots’ Tyler Lepley.
