This news threw me for a loop, but the melody in “Shape Of You” does sound vaguely familiar. Former Xscape band-mates turned songwriting duo Kandi Burruss and Tameka Cottle (aka Tiny Harris) snagged two new credits for their contributions to Ed Sheeren’s hit “Shape Of You”.

This is a cute coin for the ladies since Sheeran does have the #1 album in the country and this song is in heavy rotation on all radio. Now you won’t be able to tell Kandi shit on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” not that you could anyway.

Sheeren didn’t exactly say how the credits were earned, but ‘Shape Of You’ is just one of many of Sheeren’s songs to draw immediate comparison to other classic R&B tracks, in this case, TLC’s “No Scrubs”. Previously, fans and critics noted similarities between Sheeren’s “Thinking Out Loud” and Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On”.

Let me find out Ed Sheeren is trying to be the new Elvis Presely? If you didn’t catch that shade, you need to do your research honey.
